    Rather than fight for spectrum that few hams use we should be pushing to open up under utilized SW bands and give us back 11 meters. We could have some real digital fun while the "outlaws" just gripe about the noise.

    The cellular 5g guys seems to want everything and anything that they can get their greedy little paws on these days.

    Aside from the 3.5 GHz band, they also want the 3.7–3.98 GHz band which is adjacent to Aviation Radar Altimeters, here is an article about the opposition to these moves.

    Now what could go wrong if Radar Altimeters were jammed?

    Unfortunately most of the RF smart FCC people left years ago leaving only bean counters and lobbyist.

    It's already a done deal. The auction starts December 8. It's expected to be huge, since the spectrum is not shared with the DoD.
