I really don't see what the big deal is about the FCC.What is called (gag) music now days is a bunch of young girls running around on a stage dressed like a hooker.Maybe tho, thats so no one will notice they can't sing on key.Sing?? And the guys have to have a long strap so they can play their 3 chords on a guitar at their knees. And this is what our young people are buying.God help this nation.

What makes you think the word God and any other religious references were ever prohibited from TV and radio? If they were, how would programs such as "Seventh Heaven", "Touched by an Angel" and "Joan of Arcadia" to name just a few have been permitted? What about all the actual religious service programs such as "Mass for Shut Ins" that air every week? What about radio stations that offer religious programming 24/7 or cable TV networks that are 100% religious programming?

The only restictions are what Government can do and the Bill of Rights forbids the establishment of a Government approved, endorsed or mandated State Religion.

[IMG] kky...you are right...but... those are scripts they are reading on those tv shows. Plus it was on only ONE network at a time.

This stuff yesterday was un planned ( for the most part ), had an international LIVE audience and was on at least 3 major networks, just in the USA.

It has / had a much larger audience than a pre=planned script being broadcast on ONE network ( and even then, all the affiliates may not have broadcast " touched by an angel " or the others for what ever reasons...so that much of a potential audience was lost for that ONE hour of one evening .

Today should be interesting to watch television for many, many reasons. All of them good.

Don't worry. Between CNN and ACLU you'll hear about it...... [IMG]

    Yep

The amount of common sense you have depends on which part of the world you're standing in at any given time.

You know, the difference between taking cover when you hear a loud bang, or pop pop (fire cracker or gun shots) [IMG]

Heck, look at the difference between the Mid West and the West Coast -- we have enough sense not to say F%$# over the radio. Same can't be said by our friends in Hollywierd [IMG]

Well, apparently nothing was broadcast on THURSDAY, but on FRIDAY, June 11, 2004 the " BIG 3 " ( abd, nbc & cbs ) were all LIVE with TV coverage, along with alabama PBS ( wfiq 36 in Florence , and whiq 25 in Huntsville )....but still nothing from local fox affiliates qzdx 54 in Huntsville, or local stations that generally transmit what they WANT to; tv 11 in Athens, al or 29 in Decatur, ( which by pure coincidence is SUPPOSED to be a religious station )..... or wtto in Birmingham on 17 & 21, which are affiliated with W B ..

A tad bit of bad publicity MIGHT prompt the owners / managers / stock holders of these station to pay attention in the future to national/international events, rather than a re-broadcast of " 3 s company " of " judge judy " or practically any thing else at the appropiate time of day.

I dont suppose this means much to some of you whom chastise and ridicule any and ALL of my words (no matter what the opinion or what the topic ) , but feel free to check YOUR local stations and see who is doing like I mentioned above...you might be surprised of what you SEE !!

[IMG] well, on a Friday night...wzdx tv 54 FOX is fially catching up and broadcasting the evening part of the REAGAN funeral ( the part in California )...but E T V is not broadcasting this event on Alabama ....so it IS now on whnt 19 cbs, waff 31 abc, waff 48 nbc and wzdx tv 54 fox; all in Huntsville, Al. ...indepentant channels 44, 29, 11, 15 ( which is upn ) dont/wont participitate in this international event.

But they do want us to advertise on their stations...perhaps theri current / future customers need to KNOW how the stations are run.....( oops ) [IMG]

Television stations are supposed to " serve the public interest "; perhaps those who do not conform to the minimum rules and regulations should go off the air.

There ARE more important things than the " almighty dollar ". [IMG]

btw: not every one has a satellite dish / and or / cable connections...remember that is true, even in cities !
