Fair Radio and Dayton Hamfest Photos May 2024 Lots of interesting stuff and lots of friends - a good time was had by all! https://photos.app.goo.gl/PwJboPACPnHKgpgVA
Thanks, A nice trip down memory lane. Amazing, there are still 60-70 year old radios (and older) still around. Kudos to those who restore and maintain this great slice of ham radio history. I know I have way too many rigs, but not yet to the point of offering a BOGO free deal like the DX-60 in the photos.
Thanks for posting the photos. Did not see a thing that I would pull out the wallet for...and very little to even look at - I'm space limited.
This one is interesting... Not sure how long "Trad Electronics Corp" was in business, but I do know that Robert Trad later had "Dart Electronics" (note that it's the surname spelled backward) store front in Ocean, NJ which was aka a Lafayette store. They were there for quite a while, and I bought a buncha stuff there in the '70s and early '80s. I still have an LR-3030 stereo receiver that still works just fine. I use it out in the shop every day. I never knew they had govt contracts! https://www.radiomuseum.org/dsp_hersteller_detail.cfm?company_id=9449
They are the boat anchors Kings. Sorry to see them closing their store 73 from, The K0UO " Rhombic Antenna Farm" miles of wire in the Air & On the AIR daily
Trip down memory lame ! Ukraine should get in to Fair Radio and buy it up. That way they will have comm capability after Russia nukes them !
As you can tell, I was only taking snapshots of vintage gear at the hamfest - there were zillions of modern radios in the flea market of course. And I didn't even go into any of the building where all the really new stuff is.
Great photos. Thanks for sharing! No worries re: new equipment/ Plenty of coverage elsewhere. Appreciate your coverage of our wonderful equipment history! Can't seem to "scroll" with PageDown, PageUp, or arrow keys under Debian Bookworm and Mozilla Firefox 115.11.0esr. Odd. Google related?
