Has anyone encountered this error with the latest WSJX version? I'm unable to locate any file with a name containing fort.81. The message contains the following: Running: /Applications/wsjtx 2.0 rc3.app/Contents/MacOS/jt9 -s WSJT-X -w 1 -m 1 -e "/Applications/wsjtx 2.0 rc3.app/Contents/MacOS" -a "/Users/HarryHart/Library/Application Support/WSJT-X" -t /var/folders/ll/2v71cps55p3dsrgd_spr45yh0000gp/T/WSJT-X At line 145 of file /Users/bill/wsjtx-prefix/src/lib/ft8_decode.f90 (unit = 81) Fortran runtime error: Cannot open file 'fort.81': Permission denied -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My environment is High Sierra on a late-2009 iMac.
It's a known bug in rc3. The solution, given by G4KLA on the wsjt-devel list: ==== The “Subprocess Error” is due to a bug in rc3 and only affects FT8 operation. The fix is simple. 1. Open a Terminal window (Applications > Utilities > Terminal) and type: /Applications/wsjtx.app/Contents/MacOS/wsjtx and wsjtx will launch and behave correctly. 2. If this does not work on Mojave: Download WSJT-X again and drag the WSJT-X app to your Desktop Open a Terminal window (Applications > Utilities > Terminal) and type: ~/Desktop/wsjtx.app/Contents/MacOS/wsjtx and wsjtx will launch and behave correctly. ==== I use solution number in High Sierra on my MacBook Pro. It works like a charm and enables rc3 to run successfully. Hope this helps.
RC4 crashes always when trying to save a contest QSO, even when started via the terminal. I have had the idea to support the upcoming FT8 Roundup in RUMlog. Code: MBP13:~ dl2rum$ /Users/dl2rum/Desktop/wsjtx_2_RC4.app/Contents/MacOS/wsjtx [20181125 14:46:27.728 CET W] Qt has caught an exception thrown from an event handler. Throwing exceptions from an event handler is not supported in Qt. You must not let any exception whatsoever propagate through Qt code. If that is not possible, in Qt 5 you must at least reimplement QCoreApplication::notify() and catch all exceptions there. [20181125 14:46:27.786 CET W] QProcess: Destroyed while process ("/Users/dl2rum/Desktop/wsjtx_2_RC4.app/Contents/MacOS/jt9") is still running. Error: Database Error: NOT NULL constraint failed: cabrillo_log.exchange_sent Unable to fetch row MBP13:~ dl2rum$
Apologies if this has been covered previously, but: I keep getting runtime errors in the WSPR v2.12 Windows version - like once every 1 or 2 days. I'm running minimal programs on a Win10 laptop so I don't believe it's resources. Does anyone know of a solution for this, or if v2.0 is any more stable? Thanks! 73 Jim, WQ2H
