Entire shack/shop/man cave lost to fire tonight

Yep - the whole thing. Everything but 80% of the structure destroyed by a fast-moving fire. Source still not determined - Fire Marshall pretty much ruled out the wood stove - he's thinking electrical

But 100% of my radios - Heathkits, Kenwoods, Icoms, Yaesus, everything - 100% is destroyed.

AWFUL night. Just awful.

I'll be off the air now for a great many months - perhaps a year or more.

Please don't do any "fund me" stuff and things like that- I'm far from poor. I don't need that. In 6 months to a year, perhaps the 3-bay garage will be restored and I can "start over".

So ironic the new tower project just went live not even a month ago - and just 4 hours ago I worked Brazil in a final contact in CQWW.... and now it's all gone. GONE.

Just moral support at this point from my friends is all I ask.

I'm shocked and don't know what to say for condolences.

 

That is dreadful Dave, almost unbelievable. Very sorry to hear of your loss.
Hope you can recover as time passes.

 

Glad you are ok. Sorry... You will rebuild and hopefully insurance will cover everything.

 

Sad news.
A modern shack can be re-purchased, but replacing the classics will be a daunting task.

 

These are material things and thankfully can usually be replaced.
It's a great thing that nobody was harmed but a sad thing to lose so much.
Hope you're made whole again very soon.

Dave - very sorry to hear about your loss. This is terrible news. Just the other day, I was looking at one of your shack pictures in a thread.
