After at least 5-6 months of engineering these antennas, trying to find the right materials, the proper sizes, redoing certain things to make them better, sealing them from the weather, and a method of installation figured out.

Now, all I have to do is run coax to them and try them out, both already have been testing for SWR which are excellent.

Fortunately, they are mounted on the side of the house that faces the lake.

Don't want the neighbors think I'm into something nefarious, and the wife thinks the house is looking like a government entity.

But do you have to bring eggs up to the roof to scramble them?

Bill; Why don't you paint them? Olive green and sand colored camo Rustoleum works wonders---they'll blend into a "forest omelette" of sorts and no one will notice them.

OTOH,If they do notice them then, then yes, they will definitely think you're a government entity---but at least an official one.

Nah. To be a government entity, first you need to hire a thousand people who aren't the slightest bit qualified to do what they were hired to do, then waste a lot of money.:)

    No need.

At one time, I put up a 1/4 vertical for 80 meters. 70' tall, telescoping aluminum tubing.

I was fortunate to live in a heavily wooded area but decided to camouflage it by painting (spraying) it with flat black and flat military green.

Worked like a charm (even though it didn't need to be cmaouflaged), but standing back about 10 feet in all the trees, it virtually disappeared.

    Prior to painting it.

Aren't there supposed to be delay lines between the elements?

Yes, 1/4 wavelength which the eggbeaters have for a 90 degree phase shift.

The 2 meter one has one that is (if I recall), about 8".

The 432 one has one that is about 4".

They are contained in the structure, the 4" long PVC pipe which some refer to as a "Balun".
