    For you NEC4 folks with a moment to spare, have a look at this model and let me know if you can replicate the results I saw.
    NEC2 functions, but with a higher AGT so feel free to use whatever NEC you have with expectations properly managed.

    What a tour de force in model building! And an equally impressive write up describing the model and the design process.

    For AutoEZ users, John's *.nec file can be opened directly. The 4nec2 symbols will be automatically converted to AutoEZ variables.


    Here's a comparison of the Average Gain Test (AGT) results using three different engines.


    Note that since the ground type is Free Space, the wire loss is Zero, and there are no other loss elements in the model, the Average Gain (columns Q-R) and the Avg Gain Test (columns T-U) results are identical.

    Here are the SWR curves for the three engines.


    Obviously depending on which engine is available one would have a wildly different opinion on the results of the model.

    The attached zip contains John's model in both AutoEZ and EZNEC formats.

    Thanks for your test. Interesting that NEC5's AGT is dead on.
