    I would never consider one of these wideband Transformer-coupled end fed antennas, fed by coax . . . I always used an End Fed half-wave wire that went straight to a proper ATU.

    Yes there MAY be losses with the kind of setups I used . . . but maybe they are pretty low. They are probably impossible to calculate, let alone simulate using any computer modelling !

    All I can go on is my own experience on how they worked . . .

    Working the same DX stations on 160m year after year gave me a some pretty good points of reference . . . after all, it's the most demanding band on which to work long distances. That's how I feel I am able to say the end-feds worked pretty much the same as the dipoles.
