KA0USE posted a screenshot from "Independence Day: Resurgence" on another thread. It shows a Yaesu FT-101 and a woman in front of it. I am struck by the resemblance to a photo of my wife WB4YPD logging at Field Day in 1975!!!

These two women look alike, and are wearing their hair the same too. And there's the FT-101.
The odds against such a coincidence must be astronomical, especially with over forty years between that Field Day and the movie. Did the film's director rifle through my personal photos and then attempt to recreate this scene? :)

    SHEESH!

What's really eerie is that the OP's rig wound up in the 20th Century Fox prop department.

I liked the original Independence Day, where they used Morse code to get around their comms being intercepted by the aliens.

And they used hand keys sending gibberish.:p

The fat lady didn't sing yet.:)

Well, don't mean to creep you out...but what I have decided is "there are no coincidences." The problem is trying to figure out what these things mean. ;)

No, she's not mean. Actually she's rather nice most of the time.

It wasn’t gibberish. It was encrypted. (And Since it was the military sending it, Part 97 does not apply).

I was easily able to decrypt it. One guy kept sending, "cocktails at my place after the shoot, bring a date". :)

Yes, But if it's not prohibited by physics, then it must occur.....
