I would like to record the passing of a good friend Ed, WA6TIQ. Ed passed on in the VA Hospital in Prescott Arizona, this morning. He lived about a mile down the road from my ranch. My XYL and his, were also very good friends. The XYL and I use to get together with Ed and his XYL, Lorie, on holidays and have meals together. Sometimes it was just an impromptu pizza party. Ed was a Navy veteran. The past few years he was battling lung cancer, that was attributed to his contact with Agent Orange while in the service. He was actually beating the cancer, but the damage to his organs was already done. When Ed first moved here, I helped him get his radio set up. He had a tuner that he didn't understand, so I spent the time and explained it to him. Then he got a new radio and HRD. He and I worked together to get it all up and running. One of his other passions, maybe even more than radio, was Nascar racing. Ed will be missed.
