Ed was a mentor to me as a child, not only in ham radio, but in life. He helped me learn morse code and get my novice license. He helped me learn about electronics. His words "you would make a good engineer" stuck with me. Regretfully I lost touch with him over the years. I attempted to make contact to thank him for all he had done to encourage a young lad to become an engineer. Sadly I missed my chance to let him know how much his influence meant to me and the impact it had on my life.
