I think iOS audio is suppressed to avoid hearing damage.
I use earbuds.
I also was unable to get EchoLink to function correctly on my iPhone SE. previously successfully installed on iPhone 6S, on two Android devices and on a Windows 10 laptop. Following the advice in a previous post,. I removed the EchoLink App from the iPhone SE, then re-intalled. EchoLink now works fine on the iPhone SE. Still need to determine how to navigate to the setup screen to select speaker or headphone.
