    Hi all,

i just did a setup of an echolink node, with an old netbook, echolink and its set on a simplex freq.

Problem is when i connect to the node, it disconects me after 1 minute, either from wifi or 3g.

I can't figure out what it is, i can't change to a public proxy (no list shown)...

    Any hints ?

Sounds like your Firewall may be blocking ports.

You need to add Echolink.exe to the exception list.

I put Echolink on my PC, I found the instructions for my router in Echolink FAQ ..so there is your firewall, perhaps your antivirus packaged firewall, and your router.

Ports on the router are open. If i connect my node to some other node it stays connected. If i use my phone, as i said above it drops the connection. EITHER WIFI OR 3G ! So its not the firewall..netbook is running windows xp, firewall is off.

i changed my cellphone's echolink connection to public proxy (settings) and it seems to stay connected more than a minute...can anyone explain ?

Your ISP is blocking UDP ports.

Is there a way to see if my wifi doens't transmit all the packets when echolink is online ?

    Using an old LG-X110 netbook...

Yes. They do it. Many wireless ISPs do.

T-mobile does for sure. I have to use a proxy server. I set my own up using java and the echolink .jar file.

Your WiFi can not send packets that it does not get to relay.

What ISP do you use ?

ok, i see...so the best way is to test it on wifi from another point other than my own network...
