I would really like an option for "Sometimes but very badly..." It would be dishonest of me to say "yes" because my CW is so poor - but I do try when I can find someone who is very patient! Martin (G8FXC)
As I'm writing this, I see that 100% of the survey respondents (including myself) report using CW. I'm afraid this may say more about who is likely to respond to such a survey than it says about how likely hams are to use CW.
100% since 1992 ... well, I do make one SSB contact every year just to make sure the rig is still up to it. 2021's happened last week.
I held a class B licence issued in 1972 which did not require me to pass the Morse test and restricted me to VHF and UHF operation. By the time that Britain removed the Morse requirement, I had managed to get up to about 10 or 12 wpm and I was determined that my first QSO on the HF bands as a full licence holder would be CW. Late in the night, I heard a VK, took my courage in both hands and replied - he was patient and it was a short QSO, but my first log entry on HF was CW! I was shaking like a leaf by the time I finished! Martin (G8FXC)
