I do but I'm not sure of my method except noting the dates of reception of my signal that they reported on my QSL card and sending it back.

How do you do it ?

I just confirm I was in fact on the air to match what they claim to have heard, and fill out the date, time and frequency and write "SWL Reception Report" with a big "thank you". Pop it into their SASE and off it goes.

    Easy peasy

If they provide correct call sign, date & time I write “tnx for swl report!” If no match (rare) then I ignore it.

All the data reported should match your log, including the station you worked. Same as a 'normal' QSL card.

Some people want more than one QSO reported, others will not accept the reporting of a contact local to the SWL. YMMV

Thanks, that's basically how I've been doing it.

I answer SWL reports submitted via eQSL. Relatively painless.

    I DO.
Send them out same as I received them.
    NO e QSL’s tho.

I have confirmed them on eQSL, when the time/date/call worked match and give them a thank you for their report. One day they may become hams.
