    Do you “need” a CW filter? No.
    Do you “want” a CW filter. Absolutely.

    Y E S. you need a CW filter
    if you ever want to get on the air on CW/
    You could be on a perfectly Clear Freq when you start a QSO but you never know when another op with the narrow filters can start anoher QSO 1 kHz either sideof your spot. He will not hear you but you will get his singnal loud and clear over your QSO partner if you have only an SSB filter in.
