Im wondering if I can cut off one side of a headset and still be able to hear correctly in the remaining side? I get that theres mono and stereo and im not looking for stereo Im wanting to hear conversations looking to spend up to 50 dollars on building this project I need to wear a headset only on One Ear (claustrophobia when both ears covered) one of my 2M's is set up to listen to the local PD,Fire,Road crew without a head set, when they key there mikes-the crackling can wake the dead, and DOES get my wife upset then when they speak, its alot quieter than the intial crackling I learned the hard way NOT to have the headset over my ear so im wanting to wear it in front of my ear when on 2M and over my ear on 80,16040.ect, But having the other side of the headset clamped on the back or above my ear makes it all off balance so my wanting to cut off one side and make my own headpad for a single speaker/ear headset I do not want a headset with a mike, as im a listener not a yacker for now, thank you cheers John
While this is 3 times your budget, it is what you want - https://www.amazon.com/Beyerdynamic...6&sprefix=single+ear+headphone,aps,268&sr=8-6
Here's one for $17 https://www.amazon.com/Joso-Headpho...=single+ear+headphones&qid=1614054197&sr=8-19
There are lots of them out there. Just search "single-ear gaming headset". Pretty much any of them will provide audio quality sufficient for amateur radio. If you want to purchase from a ham radio supplier, there's this one: https://www.gigaparts.com/heil-soun...ly&utm_term=4581733672524358&utm_content=Heil Best of luck.
