My first name is Richard but I go by my middle name... Terry. Can my official name as it is displayed on QRZ be modified to R. Terry Burton instead of Richard T Burton ?
That information is based on your FCC license data in the FCC ULS. At this time it cannot be changed in your QRZ bio page. You'd need to file an "Administrative change" to your license to do that. It's not hard to do but does take a few steps Dave W7UUU
But if your first name was Archibald and you didn't want that shown, you can't remove it. Or change your address, city, state, etc. You can only add "Attention" (Bill Meacham) and "Nickname" (Bill) Just trying to be clear on what you can and can't do. That might all change down the road - TBD Dave W7UUU
If you really prefer a middle name you could legally change it. In my 20s I legally changed mine from David to Dave. Something about my mother yelling DAVID all the time I had to go before a judge and he asked me if I was trying to deceive anyone. Ah, no.... My Passport, Nexus, social security, drivers license, everything is Dave since that is my legal name. However, some folks still call me David thinking Dave is just a nickname. I eventually told my mother and she had a good laugh.
Thanks everyone. I guess I will do an administrative change to add 'Terry' as a nickname. 73, Terry, W4ALK
