Trying to drive this amplifier with an iCom 706mkII.

Dumb question--does the "relay" just need to see a short between the two conductors, or do I need to supply it with a certain voltage/current to properly key the amplifier?

    Thanks,

It just needs a contact closure to ground when you transmit.

I'd add a "kickback" diode in the Clipperton-L, though -- I don't think it has one.

What he said, but the coil has a .01 disc and the "TX" lamp across it so I doubt it would "ring" much.

A .01uF capacitor isn't much of a kickback protection device, but the lamp very well might be. I'd add the diode, anyway. Ten cents worth of insurance.:p
