    Dennis J. Bird, DDS
Dr. Dennis J. Bird, 75, passed away from complications from a spinal injury on Saturday, October 14, 2017 in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
He was born on June 8, 1942, to Robert E. and Jennie Bird in Brooklyn, New York.

He married his soulmate Lois Palmeri with whom he recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.
Dr. Bird worked as an oral surgeon for many years in Bridgeport, Connecticut, entertaining his patients and staff with his jokes and lighting the world with his smile.
He loved music, especially if it included a brass section, and was a regular guest on the WICC Italian House Party radio show.

Dr. Bird was also a longtime ham radio operator and an avid fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers.
After retirement, he discovered that he could bake desserts like no other and enjoyed sharing them with willing taste testers across Fairfield. He loved spending time at Duchess and Ruby Tuesdays and knowing the staff on a first name basis.

Religion was a vital and important part of Dr. Bird's life; he was a daily communicant, Eucharistic minister, and an active member of St. Pius X church in Fairfield.
Most of all Dr. Bird was a wonderful, kind, and generous person who always tried to make others happy.

Dr. Bird is survived by his wife, Lois, his beloved son, Robert, and wife, Laura, and his adoring grandson, Ryan.
Survivors also include his sister Jennie, his niece and her family (Jena, Mike, Micayla, and Mason), and his cousins, Vinny and Margaret, Sal, Joe and their families, and all of his close friends.

He will welcome us all to heaven with a warm smile and a tray of brownies.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Dr., Fairfield, Connecticut, Thursday, October 19, at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to St. Pius X Church for their faith center.
