    Dennis Alan Burgoyne of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, died unexpectedly April 15, 2018 from complications following surgery.
    Born April 22, 1942 in Merrill, Wisconsin, to Charlene G. (Hershner) Krause and Leonard A. Krause. He later served in the United States Navy, on the aircraft carrier Yorktown, in Sonar and Helicopter Air-Sea Rescue.
    After discharge he resided in Los Angeles, and later attended college in Daytona Beach where he met and married his wife Mary of 50 years. The family returned to the San Francisco Bay area, relocated to Westerville, Ohio and later returned to New Smyrna Beach.
    Dennis was Director of Risk Management at local hospitals including, Atlantic Medical, Halifax, Palms West (Palm Beach) then Bert Fish Medical Center in New Smyrna Beach until his retirement. He also served as a volunteer for many years with the American Red Cross as Instructor-Event Communications.
    Dennis was an enthusiastic Ham Radio Operator (WD3B) for more than 30 years and participated in national and local organizations including the Quarter Century Wireless Assoc (QCWA), American Radio Relay League (ARRL), Daytona Beach Amateur Radio Assoc. (DBARA), Volusia Amateur Radio Emergency Svcs. (ARES), Daytona Beach CERT, Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and National Weather Service.
    Dennis & Mary were celebrating their 50th Anniversary together. He was a much loved husband, father and friend. Survived by wife Mary, son Dion Adrian Burgoyne, Daughter-in-law Momo, in Burlingame, California and he will become a grandfather in June.
    Services will be at a later date with the family in California.
