Den Conners KD2S passed away this last Thursday morning about 2am. He was well known in the HAM community as well as in the 'high tech internals' type community for PCs, working for various PC and laptop manufacturers, as well as a time for SystemSoft.

In the HAM community, he was the first president of T.A.P.R.

Here's a link to the ARRL statement:

I had a link to funeral home, but can't seem to find it right now, but I'll post it as a response when I find it.

    Condolances

I met Den after he moved to Massachusetts and I was serving in the Air Force at Hanscom AFB. We were active in the packet radio community together and I had the good fortune to be in the very early meetings for PACSAT. Den's leadership will be missed. Clear signals from now on.

I think I remember Den doing a "Solar Noise" experiment for the local AM station morning program (WGY) in the Albany-Schenectady area right before he went to Kitt Peak National Observatory. He pointed a dish at the sun so everyone sould hear how "noisy" the Sun was. I enjoyed talking with him on the NYSPTEN while I was up there.

It's interesting that the TAPR web site has made no comments.
