Deep Fiber Solutions of Roswell, Georgia premiered this coax to fiber technology in 2014.
Removes coaxial cable (usually 3/4 inch OD, 75 ohm) dielectric and center conductor,
creating a “mini-duct” for new multi-strand fiber optic cable.

Since then, they successfully used this technology in two Chicago area locations.

Chicago financial district (under LaSalle Street station’s RR right-of-way)
An earlier contractor (failed work) had damaged one coaxial cable, so it was unusable.

Using an abandoned .750” coax cable for core ejection on a desired fiber route that passed from an above ground pedestal under a 4-lane parkway and a 2-lane street.
