Once again, thanks for all the great feedback on the November issue (and prior issues) of The Logger's Bark, the newsletter & magazine of W7DK, The Radio Club of Tacoma! You can read about the club at www.W7DK.org and if you're ever in Tacoma, WA on a Saturday, the club holds open house almost every Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and all are welcome. Full details at the link.

In this month's December issue of The Logger's Bark magazine:

    • History of NOISE REDUCTION in radio systems
    • The REAL story of the Wouff Hong and Rettysnitch - you'll be surprised!
    • Holiday gift buying guide for radio amateurs
    • Did you work the Bigfoot Special event? Certificates have been mailed!!
    • W7DK Basic Soldering Class - a resounding success
    • Tech Class: WHY should you upgrade to General?
    • Old School Telegraphy Tech - the MILL! So what it is?
    • 1970s Mystery Box - can you guess its real purpose?
    • All about the G5RV vs. the Z6BKW antennas
And a whole bunch more - photos, tips, tricks, blurbs, puzzles, all about amateur radio and NEVER any ads!

Download The Logger's Bark HERE: https://static.qrz.com/w7dk/December2024-QRZ-compressed.r1.pdf

IMPORTANT: Be sure to actually download it to read - if you merely use Preview mode, the external links won't work! Also, to open a link, "Right Click" > "Open in New Tab". The software I use unfortunately doesn't support "targeted links"... unless you right click, you will leave the document.

Dave, another great issue of the Barkie! Looking forward to another biiiiig year!

Dave has taken the club's newsletter and elevated it to heights never before imagined and I say this as a former editor, many times in the past.

    Good show, Dave!

MAYBE QRZ COULD MAKE A CLUB FEATURE EVERY MONTH, REVOLVING QUALITY CLUB NEWSLETTERS SUCH AS THIS AS A CLUB MEMBERSHIP AND CHARITTABLE ITEM. I'D NEVER HAD SEEN THIS OTHERWISE.

Enjoyed this month's newsletter. Looks like the soldering class was a real hit. I did a quick search in my area and found two basic soldering classes for hobbyists... One is $100 for 3 hours and the other is $185. What a great value you provided to your membership.

Upon moving from Olympia to New Mexico, I exchanged Sasquatch for Chupacabra. I miss the furry guy!

(I also miss the Artesians but that’s another story for another day.)
