Not at all, although it does require a little time to bring it up and running under Mac OS, using Wine. There is an excellent tutorial at https://www.davidbaumgold.com/tutorials/wine-mac/#dock-icon . I am a Mac only user but I have been using CWCOM under OS X for about 6 months now.

Actually it is absolutely free. The site is slightly confusing but I assure you CWCOM is absolutely free.

No, it will work on Linux, but you need to do some terminal work to get the "comport" and "dial out" permissioons
It works through "wine".. I have tested it on Linux Mint from version 9 to present version 17 , and so I expect it would work for other Linux distros too.

Here is a "noddy`s guide" for those who need it....

To get the FREE version... from this page.....

    http://www.mrx.com.au/

Go to the menu on the left side and click "Download"

On the new page... click on CW Communicator

Here you will have some paragraphs of information that "may" be of interest... but if you are in a hurry,... scroll down the page a bit further to the Download section and read " To download the latest CW Communicator release click HERE"

click on the word in RED " HERE "

You will then get the normal "download" pop out window, from where you get cwcom_inst.exe
