It's not "CW only," but the Xiegu G90 is a very good CW rig, and I've used mine almost exclusively on CW.

I made a few SSB contacts just to confirm that worked, but then never did that again.

It has a good built-in electronic keyer, DSP filtering down to 150 Hz bandwidth, a spectrum scope and waterfall, and the stuff SDRs all seem to have...including a bit of "latency," which makes it not a great candidate for high-speed full QSK because the turnaround time is too long for that. However, that "SDR problem" exists with all of them, to some extent.

It will handle full QSK at about 20-25 wpm, but not really above that. Semi-QSK is fine, and also what most people use.

Pretty amazing little rig for $450 brand new with 2-year warranty. It's only 20W output power, which can be adjusted "down" to <1W, but cannot be adjusted "up," since that's all it runs. But I've made a lot of contacts with it, almost entirely CW.

I have the mike it came with (not a great mike) but it's in a drawer someplace and hasn't been plugged in for several months.

It's actually smaller than a K2, so I don't know if this would qualify as a "desk" rig.:p

    Hi,

we had 4 of this Xiegu G90.

    1. showed an wrong voltage
    2. had an incomplete SW update
    3. und 4. the keyer died from HF (antenna very close to the device)

Nice Transceiver, but you must shield the key cable and decouple the key/
keyer from HF if you use an antenna close to it.

The build in tuner is very nice, with a 13,5m wire you get
    160 - 10m. Current at 20W is 4,5 A.

Is Full QSK mandatory? What is the advantage?

Get a used Icom IC-765, and dial the power down.

The IC-765 is one of the best receivers ever made. It works great on CW.

I have one, but it's not for sale.
