Where can I find a good low cost CW keyer reader for under &100.
I will be using an Icom 718 transceiver

There's always gotta be that guy.

OP, there are lots of programs out there. Some work better for other and vice versa. Start out with Flidgi. Bit of a learning curve but it will give you something to work on.

You won't find any hardware devices in that price range that both decode and send.
The MFJ-464 does what you want, but it's more than twice your desired price.
    https://mfjenterprises.com/products/mfj-464

You can find numerous separate devices for decoding and sending.
But the price of the required pair again will be beyond your price range.
And they'd be awkward to use.

Likewise with software solutions -- there are many free or low-cost separate programs for decoding and sending.
    Few that do both.
As KD8OSD posted -- Fldigi is one of them.
In addition to cw, it works for RTTY and numerous digital modes.

Might be correct, but doesn't help the OP.

As JUR says, you already have the best decoder there is. And the 718 has a built-in keyer, so all you need is a paddle and you are ready to go.

Spend some time copying W1AW code practice runs, and when you are at 8 - 10wpm or so, get on 40 and start working OMs. There are plenty of low-speed ops on every day around 7.050. You'll soon wonder why you ever worried about a decoder. Good luck! :)

And thank goodness there still is That Guy. If, instead of spending time learning FLdigi, the OP spends time learning the code, not only will he have a skill that will see him through the rest of his amateur career, he'll have a lot more fun with CW than he would staring at some software struggling to decode the average fist. ;)
