Hey guys. Im preparing to purchase a solid state amp, with a 1000+ watt output, and want to make sure im not missing any that are currently on the market. So far, i can see my current options are the

    Ameritron ALS-1300/1306
    Acom 1200S
    Juma PA1000
    Gemini HF-1K
    Elecraft KPA 1500
    Palstar LA-1K
    Yaesu Quandra System

Are there any others that i am missing?

    Thank you

Well, what it the potential use of this amp? Are you an 80m ragchewer, contester, FT8 operator, do you chase DX?

Can you spare any expense, or, do you have a budget to work with? I'm just curious from my own standpoint.

SPE Expert series. Includes auto tuner. There is a U S outlet for these amps made in Europe.

Never forget what many have said in the past:

The first 500 watts are all that matters.

You forgot the Icom PW 1. The PW1 is the one I would get. The reason is, the last time I was at W1AW, I watched them run the RTTY bulletins running through a PW1 at 1200 watts out. For an amp that is rated at 1000 watts out but can handle 1200 watts out in that duty cycle tells me that it is one rugged solid state amp.
The KPA1500 looks nice but it's too new. The votes aren't in yet. Give it time.

Looks like the March QST has Product Review of the KPA1500.
The 3rd order IMD number was less than impressive (or should it be "higher than impressive) -30dB below PEP at rated output.

As a frequent QRP operator, I'd counter that and say the first FIVE watts are all that matters :)

Have never run more than 100 watts and likely never will
