Wow! I've got my old 5150, too! I bought it new back in the day, for well over $2000.... and used it for a decade before I put it away.

Mine was the "two big floppy drive" version, but I splurged and bought a "HardCard 20" HDD (that's 20mb, not 20 gb) , and a full 640K Ram card. I was cooking with GAS, baby! I especially love the clicky keyboard. They just don't make 'em as well nowadays.

Just for the fun of it, I set it up on my desk a few weeks ago and fired it up. It still works perfectly, with it's green letters on a black background. However.... I'm pretty sure that MS does not support DOS2.0, and no security patches are available nowadays.

Yeah...and it's way cooler (but probably not faster) than carrying a pencil and steno pad with calendar!

David Ek, NK0E designed an interface for controlling a QRP rig using the Palm Pilot. I made a PC board based on his design way back when, but I haven't gotten around to building yet. It was one of the first boards I made. It's number 137 on my to-do list :) Both my Pilot and my Palm IIIXE still function just fine, and I do still remember the shorthand for entering text!

I have the Palm keyboard that works for both PDAs as well.

See if you want to see the board.

The Palm is still good for IR remote control.

You can change the channel and volume on the wide screen TVs in a restaurant.

It looks like the forums don't redirect to https so if you end up on http for some reason, you stay there.

Spent some time on this while eating lunch...yeah, no rewrite to https. Seems the best that gets divulged after the login redirect is they'll get your credential cookie(s). Of course, that is as bad as it gets too.

So, uhm, no QRZ from unsecured wifi until this gets resolved.

It's rare anyone out-nerds me, but a Palm Pilot might do it.

The day the video of Weird Al's "White and Nerdy" was released three separate friends sent me the link unbeknownst to each other!

And then I promved their point by complaining that the lyrics say "soldering gun" while the video shows him with a soldering IRON (pencil type, albeit with a weird sort of gun grip attachment/extension :D )
