The Finnish Amateur Radio League, (SRAL) in cooperation with Araucaria DX Group (ADXG) of Brazil and Radio Arcala, OH8X of Finland invite you cordially to join them in to a global special event featuring their STAYHOME campaign and its radio activity as follows:

    TIME PERIOD: 06-07 June, 2020, 10:00 UTC Saturday – 09:59 UTC Sunday

    BANDS: 80, 40, 20, 15, 10 meters

MODES: CW, SSB, DIGITAL (FT4/FT8 only)

    STATION CATEGORIES:

    1) STAYHOME stations. The suffix must be STAYHOME.

A suffix such as STAY, HOME, or STAYHOM may be used in case STAYHOME cannot be issued by the local telecom authorities. The following call signs are also accepted:
    5W1STAYSAFE and W2I/STAYHOME

    2) NON-STAYHOME stations: All other stations use their regular suffix.

    OPERATOR AND MODE CATEGORIES:

    1) Single operator, both in STAYHOME and NON-STAYHOME categories:

A: Single mode CW, or SSB, or Digital
    B: Multi mode CW/SSB/Digital

    2) Team category, of up to three (3) same STAYHOME stations; each on a single mode, using the same call sign. Stations can be in multiple locations and multiple operators are allowed at each
station assuming they honor the local distancing recommendations.

    3) All participants must operate within the power limits and other conditions corresponding to their license in their respective country.

SUGGESTED CALL: Please use CQ STAYHOME (SSB) and TEST SH (CW) because there are other
contests going on at the same time

EXCHANGE: 59(9) and the AGE (years) of the operator. Women may use 00. If you or your counterpart do not want to disclose your/his age, please use 99. Note: On FT4/FT8 normal reports (no age) are used.

QSO-MAKING ASSISTANCE: DX-Cluster and Reverse Beacon Network are permitted for receiving spots.

Self-spotting is not allowed. Remotely operated stations are allowed.

    SCORING:

    1) STAYHOME STATIONS: The total number of valid contacts.

    2) NON-STAYHOME STATIONS: Each valid QSO gives 1 point.

Stations can be worked once on each mode and band with a maximum of 15 QSOs.

There are two types of multipliers:

    a) Number of DXCC countries worked, counted only once.

    b) Number of different STAYHOME call signs worked, counted only once.

    LOG FORMAT:

Date, UTC time, band, sent and received messages are needed.

Cabrillo is preferred but ADIF files are also accepted. ADIF files generated by WSJT-X are acceptable.

LOG INSTRUCTIONS: The operator's age should be included both in the sent and in the received messages, e.g. 599 73. Please check that your transmitted message (with age) also went into your log. If not, add your age in the SOAPBOX or comments of the log.

Logs received without received age are welcome and count as support logs.

    LOGGING SOFTWARE:

If your logging software supports it, the All Asian Contest format also exchanges age. In Win-Test, All Asian accepts both modes (CW/SSB)

You may use any other software where age can be included in the messages.

For example, CQ WW DX Contest format can be used, replacing the zone number by age.
Submitted logs for three modes can be separate. It is not necessary to calculate a score (see below).

If your program adds a leading zero to your age, that is OK.

    SCORE CALCULATION:

Since no existing software can score the logs, the organizers will calculate all final scores.

    SUBMISSION OF LOGS:

Send your log to covidlog@sral.fi The deadline is 7 days after the end of the contest.

    THE AWARDS:

The STAYHOME stations making more than 1000 QSOs will receive an online
certificate (all operators). The best NON-STAYHOME scores in each continent receive a plaque.

The top 30 multi-mode scores, top 5 single mode scores on each mode, and top 3 scores of each continent will receive an online certificate. The same group of sixty-three (63) scores will participate the grand prize lottery.

THE GRAND PRIZE WILL BE ANNOUNCED BEFORE THE ACTUAL EVENT

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE COVID-19 COMMUNICATION EVENT WAS PART OF THE GLOBAL STAYHOME ACTIVITY FROM APRIL 08, 2020 TO JUNE 07, 2020

The OH0 - OH9 stations made an impressive 133.000 contacts along with 25.000 FT8 QSOs logged by the Brazilian digital station ZW5STAYHOME, working hams from a total of 180 countries from all 40 CQ zones, with other STAYHOME stations totaling almost 290.000 contacts in the two-month period. This reinforced the recommended STAYHOME/STAYSAFE message of distancing and well-being among the global on-the-air amateur radio community. On June 08, 2020 the Finnish led movement was put on hold while waiting for further news from around the world. Unfortunately the news has been discouraging and our sympathy goes to the families of the suffering and the lost lives. Amateur radio operators continue to pass well-being messages and are ready and at service for the society when needed.

These events were organized jointly by Radio Arcala of Finland and Araucaria DX Group of Brazil
