Great news, glad it all worked out. Have fun.
Is it possible to connect FT891 directly to PC and operate digital modes WITHOUT SignaLink device ?
Possibly using the PC soundcard or associated hardware to directly drive Yaesu transceiver?
No, it is not. It does not have an on-board sound card like the IC-7300. The FT-891 absolutely needs the SignaLink or another similar device.
Yes, the SignaLink is just a Proprietary external soundcard, Nothing particularly special about it, any interface device can be used with the 891.
Heck, depending on the size of your junque box, you can build on for about $10.00.
I am having problems connecting the FT-891 to HRD. Both my FT-817's connect fine, although i can not get HRD to get me "On Freq" on the linear sats. Could i get some guidance on how to get my FT-891 talking to HRD, so i can use the Logbook function, when working POTA?
Is your Signalink the USB model? Is your 891 baud rate set the same as your digital software baud rate?
