To celebrate our 10th Anniversary, WØC-SOTA is organizing a “10-10-10” event with
challenges for Activators and Chasers alike. All radio amateurs are welcome to participate.

Activator challenge: Activate 10 (or more) 10,000 ft (or higher) summits in WØC (Colorado) within 10 days

Chaser challenge: Contact 10 (or more) Activators on 10 (or more) qualifying WØC summits (10,000 feet or higher) during the 10 day event.

Event Date: We will kick-off the event in collaboration with the Colorado 14er event on August 7th and will conclude on August 16th, 2021.

Everybody is invited to participate. Plan your vacations and business-trips to Colorado accordingly. Block off these days in your calendar.

There will be a ranking of all participants who meet the challenge… endorsements, prices and certificates. More details will be announced as soon as they are hashed out on the WØC-SOTA Website and the NA-SOTA group.

(It’s actually the 11th Anniversary but the COVID-19 Pandemic interfered in 2020.)

Summits On The Air (SOTA) is all about getting out and hiking to a summit with your radio and having fun! You need not wait for a contest to roll around; you can create your own today! Experience what it’s like to be DX! New to SOTA? Please join us! Start here!

The WØC SOTA Association was born on May 1, 2010 with Steve, wGØAT, serving as the first (back then, WØ) association manager. On that very day, Steve officially activated the first WØ summit, Mt. Herman, WØC/FR-063 with 33 cw contacts.

The association began with a mere 219 ‘seed’ summits at its inception and has grown to include nearly 1,800 summits throughout Colorado today. SOTA summit elevations in Colorado range from 5,325’ (Mack Benchmark, WØC/RP-127) to 14,432’, the state’s highest peak (Mt. Elbert, WØC/SR-001).

As a mountaintop “activator”, or an armchair “chaser”, the excitement spans all bands, modes and ages. For more information about SOTA (Summits On The Air), please check out the SOTA website at: https://www.sota.org.uk/
