    Christopher Lee Coffin
    July 7, 1949 - Aug 2, 2017

Chris Coffin was born in Berkeley, California on July 7th, 1949 and moved to Turlock as an infant, where he was raised for the remainder of his childhood.
Chris attended Turlock public schools, where he met Kathy Carlson, who would soon become his high school sweetheart and ultimate bride of 45 years.
After graduating from Turlock High School, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business from California State University, Stanislaus.

While attending college Chris enlisted in the National Guard, where he served for 6 years. His early employment included jobs at Hume Cannery, Morris Plan, and finally M.K. Nelson's Magnavox on Main Street in Turlock which he later purchased and operated with his business partner Wally Ray. Wally and Chris soon renamed the store C & R Audio Video, where they sold, delivered, and repaired home electronics for approximately 20 years. Before his retirement, Chris also worked for the 2000 Census Bureau.

Chris was an active and longstanding member of the Turlock First United Methodist church and a member and treasurer of the Turlock Amateur Radio Club, where his call sign was K6CP.

Chris will be remembered for his love of HAM radio, his tireless efforts to maintain his fruit orchard, his homemade cookies and muffins, his annual drives over the Sierra passes, and for his playfulness and clever sense of humor.

Chris is survived by his wife, Kathy Coffin; his three adult children Sarah Coffin, Elizabeth Lake (T.J.), and Allen Coffin (Chelsea); and his two grandchildren Victoria Lake and Samuel Lake.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mildred Coffin and his brother, Richard Coffin.

The family would like to express our deepest appreciation for Dr. Swati Andhavarapu for her excellent and tireless care over the last two years.
We would also like to thank the nurses and staff in the Oncology and Infusion departments at Doctors Medical Center and Sutter Gould in Modesto.
Finally, special thanks to the Denair Fire Department for their assistance during this difficult time.

Donations in Chris' honor should be sent to Little Lights Preschool at the First United Methodist Church, 1660 Arbor Way, Turlock, CA 95380.

A private graveside service will be held on Friday, August 11th at Turlock Memorial Park. A public memorial and reception will be held at 5:30pm on Friday, August 11th at the First United Methodist Church in Turlock.
