I have a bottle of this ink, which has lasted me about 3 years so far. The cost is $18: https://www.amazon.com/BCH-Standard...qid=1482089563&sr=8-5&keywords=bch+ink+refill I have a similarly priced refill kit, which consists of a smaller bottle with a needle on top. The ink that came with it originally lasted me about a year. You need to drill a small hole in the cartridge, and it's a simple matter to refill, even for a klutz like me. I do it in the laundry tub, which allows for easy cleanup of the inevitable spill. If you don't feel comfortable drilling the hole, then you can buy a refilled cartridge at a store with a name something like Ink Cartridges R Us. They already have the hole drilled, and you simply have to peel back the label. About once a year, I need to buy a new cartridge from them for about $20. Every six months or so, I need to run through the printer's cleaning routine. If I had to buy new ink cartridges, I'd probably just throw the printer away when it was empty, since a new printer generally costs about the same as the refills. But the way I'm doing it now, my cost of ink is a couple of dollars per year. If I simply bought refill cartridges, it would be a couple of hundred a year.
