I have read another post with someone having a problem and I still cant figure it out. I am trying to transfer an adif file from another logging program that I use offline and having no luck. I have a qrz home call logbook and also a qrz logbook for kp2/ka3cnc. when i use the offline program and create an adif file I dont have a problem if i load the home call qsos into my home call logbook. The problem is I logged several qsos in the USVI as kp2/ka3cnc and when I try to load it into that logbook it wont transfer the file. I have checked the error messages but still cant figure it out. I tried to do a few different things but no luck...any help would be appreciated....thanks
You need to have two logbooks, one for KP2KA3CNC and one for KA3CNC. They are not the same and each logbook can only have one callsign. It wasn't clear whether you had both setup or not.
yes...I do have 2 logbooks.....a question I have is in my kp2/ logbook properties I have entered the lat/lon, grid square, cq and itu zone for the kp2 location in the USVI or should it be the same info as my home call info? Did I enter that wrong?
@KA3CNC Whenever you have import issues, you should always visit the logbook settings page and look for the file import export history section. There you'll find a report on each transfer you do with information on the transfer and any issues that occurred. You mention checking the errors, but if you did you apparently overlooked the key detail. As @KP4SX implied and @KX0DW covered in a little more detail (thanks guys!), you have to have both logbooks because they are for two different callsigns. That's the key detail. KA3CNC and KP2/KA3CNC are two different callsigns. The significance of this is that you can't upload QSOs logged as KA3CNC to a logbook for the callsign KP2/KA3CNC and that's exactly what you're trying to do. From your KP2/KA3CNC history: You need to change your logging software to log as KP2/KA3CNC when you are operating in that fashion so that your ADIF files contain the correct callsign. Anticipating your next question, since you already have ADIF files that should have been logged as KP2/KA3CNC you are going to need to edit those files, or change the logged callsign in the QSOs in your logging software and re-export. If you need to just edit the ADIF files, a tool like ADIF Master (https://www.dxshell.com/adif-master.html) will allow you to do cut and paste and block operations to correct the callsigns. 73, Steve KF8KI
ok...when I used the other logging program I did title it kp2/ka3cnc....I will see what i can do in adif master and give that a shot..thanks for all the replies.
There is a field called STATION_CALLSIGN that should read <station_callsign:10>KP2/KA3CNC for each of the QSOs you want to upload to the KP2/KA3CNC logbook. The "Operator" field can be KA3CNC without issue. The filename of the adif file is irrelevant.
Hey Guys!!...thanks for all the help...was able to make corrections in the adif master and got them to load!!...Thanks to all who replied..I couldn't have figured it out on my own...Thanks again for all the help.....Joe
