Can Wires From End Fed Antennas Be Near Gutters?

    Will this hurt the performance?

End fed or not, when antenna parts get near metal objects, there may be some coupling that can do all kinds of things to the radiation pattern, resonance frequency, impedance, and SWR. Unless carefully planned and controlled, the changes are unlikely to improve performance.

Will it hurt the performance though? Say it is next to the end of a gutter, but not running parallel to it.

So many unknown factors that degrading of performance can not be predicted, just say "it will degrade performance some".
Just put it up and see how it works.
