Can anyone vouch for the mfj 2m ssb rig?

    I looked at the mfj. Instead
    I have (from top to bottom on the left side) kenwood tr751a, 25w, u/lsb&fm&cw, ~$150. Try to find one with new pots, but its a well documented and relatively simple fix.
    Kenwood tm-255a, 40w, same modes+data jack and an awesome receiver, ~$350.
    ICOM ic-290h, 25w same modes but no tone board on FM, ~$150.

    I had the 9406 and was impressed with what 10 watts SSB could do with a band opening and a twin-lead folded dipole. Was NOT impressed with the dial calibration; an LCD display would be very cheap to add.

    I paid $60 for mine, a steal at a local hamfest. Wouldn't pay full retail for it though -- would apply that price tag to a used HF + 6 rig instead.
