Camp X - located to the east of Toronto, Ontario along the north shore of Lake Ontario, was the only spy training, communication base - and espionage centre in the western hemisphere during WW2.

It was commissioned by Winston Churchill, and Sir William Stevenson - the Man Called Intrepid chose the location and the first personnel.

The first operative trained in Camp X was Hughey Durant, and amateur radio operator. Camp X actively recruited hams for espionage service and to work at implementing clandestine cells.

Ian Fleming (James Bond) trained here.

Camp X trained about 600 agents. Amateur Radio agents were were most valued because of their ability with morse and electronic skills.

Camp X is estimated at being instrumental in saving 1 million lives and reducing WW2 by one year in length.
Underground agents, made a huge, impact on stalling the movement of the Nazis from the eastern to western fronts.

Camp X is on the air on June 7th and 8th, commemorating those unsung heroes of WW2, and the amateur radio operators who served.

Listen up on the 10,20,40, and 80m bands.

Special QSL cards commemorate this annual event.
