There have been a few that have posted here without a call (REASTON comes to mind...he posted in the Amp section some). In my opinion, if you don't have a call, then you should be vetted in some other way. You also shouldn't be allowed to remain anonymous.
It could be that the search was performed on the wrong part of the FCC ULS site. I have inadvertently searched for a license from a search form on there that was not for that type of service, such as looking up a commercial radio station on the amateur search page, or searching an amateur radio call sign on the commercial license page. At first glance, both of those search pages look almost the same.
