Bee Haworth spent her 90th birthday on June 15 playing cards at the North Ridgeville Senior Center, just like she always does on Wednesday mornings.
Haworth is driving, playing mahjong and pinochle and is in command of all her facilities, according to the center’s activity coordinator Shelly Sullinger.
“She’s so involved and active . . . she’s unbelievable,” Sullinger said. “I can’t believe some of the stuff she’s done and some off the stuff she’s still doing.”
Sullinger, who nominated Haworth as this week’s person of the week, said Haworth tells life stories while she plays cards, including her experiences deciphering Japanese code during World War II and her memories of a then-under-construction Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

“She would be someone you would look up to because of her experiences,” Sullinger said.
