    Hello everyone,
Want to built 6 meter 4el cubical quad on a 8 ft boom , so I found this online calculator:
    https://www.qsl.net/yt1vp/CUBICAL QUAD ANTENNA CALCULATOR.htm
Is anybody used it? Is it a good and accurate ?
Another question : - If I use 14 AWG THHN wire , do I need to reduce wire dimension of 5% ?

    Thanks

    Serge

I am not sure if 4 elements on that boom length is worthwhile. Try modeling it with 2 & 3 elements first. Gain usually has more to to with boom length, than elements.

I got a 2 el quad already , works good, but want more gain :)

What is the boom length of the 2 element?

4L on 50 MHz, 8' boom is "boom length limited."

Extra elements don't add the gain; spacing between them does. 4L would have good gain with about a 13.5' long boom.

If I remember right, about 45"

I thought multiple parasitic elements that what add gain, and a proper spacing between then makes gain even greater.

Only if the boom is longer for the proper spacing allows greater gain. Add all the elements you want to a short boom Yagi and nada more gain. One needs both to effect the desired change.

    4 el about 12'
    5 el about 17'
    6 el about 24'

A quad offers nothing special over the narrow active part of 6 and a yagi is often easier to build and tune.

My current version is 8el on a 35' boom

    Yep.

Charge acceleration. And that doesn't occur with a bunch of closely spaced elements.
