Certainly does, for Museum Ships Weekend!

We activated the SS Red Oak Victory K6YVM today for MSW.. Lots of good 20m activity.

Heard from @AJ6NI BOTA Naut-A-Lone a few minutes before 1300. But conditions on SF Bay were really rough, and got worse over the afternoon.

I'd like to hear from Naut-A-Lone about their experience this afternoon!

Sure! You just need to use mobile equipment to activate it for BOTA, which you can do any time:

I was on the Naut-A-Lone! We made a couple of contacts on 20m and on VHF, but the conditions weren't very favourable. We had to turn back and return to land early due to seasickness. We shared some photos of the Auriah with AJ6NI, they should be on a website soon!

How about BOTA inside a whale?
No expensive audio needed for sounding like a broadcaster.

Hi All, we've got an article about the program coming out in the September Issue of QST. A heads up that we have altered the rules, significantly allowing other "boat" radio situations to participate. Here is the current set of rules. Also, we will be adding features to the website to make posting and logging activations. Thanks for your patience.

    1. As long as it safely floats, any type of watercraft is allowed to be used.
    2. The boat may be underway, anchored, moored or in port/alongside.
    3. You must make a minimum of 4 QSOs for your activity to count toward a BOTA activation.
    4. Chasers still gain credit, even if the activator hasn’t reached 4 QSOs.
    5. The activator must submit a log on boatsontheair.com.
    6. Activator must obey Local, State and Federal Safety guidelines and laws or will be disqualified.
    7. Use of repeaters is not allowed for activations.
