About 80% of my operating is "Boats On The Air" except I am usually not moving at the time. My autopilot goes absolutely nuts as soon as I key up.

 

Yes! Ground wave across SF Bay. You're 40 over 9, old man, etc etc. Hopefully the USS Hornet, Pampanillo, and J O Brian will also be on the air.

(I slightly misspoke above: The SS ROV call sign is K6YVM, from the Merchant Marine days. The USS ROV call sign is NY6CI, from Navy deployment in WWII. Yes it matters, to the ex Navy OM trustee...)

 

Would love to participate, but unfortunately that is Museum Ships Weekend. MSW is also a nautical event, with practically all museum ships in NorCal participating. MSW is a pretty big event for nautically-oriented hams. Kinda surprised you picked that weekend.

 

I think it's already called marine or maritime mobile. But have a good time.

 

If you could do a flying Dutchman it would be
BITA : Boat in the Air or both

 

I'll be listening up. I go marine mobile every time I go out.

 

Now the question is if that would be still MM or would it have to be AM...
