According to spaceweather.com, a new sunspot has formed, and it's "crackling with flares":

    www.spaceweather.com

"Here is the ultraviolet flash from the strongest so far, a C4-class flare photographed by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory:

"A pulse of radiation from this flare briefly ionized the top of Earth's atmosphere, disturbing shortwave radio propagation around the Indian Ocean: blackout map. The sunspot has been producing similar flares every few hours since then (0615 UT on Oct. 27th).

"AR2778 is the biggest sunspot of young Solar Cycle 25 with nearly a dozen dark cores sprawling almost 100,000 km across the solar surface."

Good to see the sun waking up. What's happened to Dr. Tamitha Skov's reports? I've not seen those posted in some time now?

And as usual, it will be followed by a month of nothing.
At least it made for a great CQWW SSB last weekend, with 10 meters open for a while.

Tamitha was on a diplomatic mission to negotiate with Old Sol for more sunspots; apparently her efforts have been successful!
