    Hi Doug,
Not a book, but Dave Kennet W8KFJ (SK) presented several tutorials on Youtube called "SDR School" parts 1-3 and a tutorial on fast Fourier transformations called "The Magic FFT". Additionally Dave presented a series of videos on the Elad FM-Duo SDR rig which illustrates some of the capabilities of an SDR. 73 and Shalom from Jerusalem, Kal 4X1SO

Hello Kal- thank you for this information. It is much appreciated.

I've done only a cursory review of SDR at this point. Am I correct that SDR is fairly technical, as compared to using a "regular" transceiver? I know many of the functions on a transceiver are done digitally via software, but it seems the interplay with a computer adds quite a bit to the process. It seems quite a bit more expensive too.
