I'm looking for a hand mic; BUT not just any hand mic, I'm searching for one that has a great microphone! One that delivers excellent audio quality above others. The quality of a hand mic speaker doesn't matter to me, and I don't weigh that as a consideration, because I will be using a separate speaker for audio.
Although I would use the mic for HT use, I am okay with any base/mobile hand mic as well. If the mic doesn't have my mic connection type (2.5mm), I will rewire / get an adapter for HT use.
Please feel free to recommend any brand, make, model, or year of mic you have experienced is "best" in your book! 73

Kenwood TH-F6 and some Chinese HT's in particular. I have several HT's with a 2.5mm mic connection.

Why not be stylish as well? A candlestick microphone with single-button carbon element fits the bill. Advantages include speaking more loudly and enunciating clearly, and the opportunity to occasionally tap the mic on the table to loosen the carbon granules. Supply your own 5vdc bias and blocking capacitor.

I did what you're trying, and got fantastic results from a Kenwood KMC-45D.

Shure 404B and 404C are battleships that sound great.

Nevermind... you're interested in connecting a mic or spkr/mic to an HT!

    Good grief.
