    According to weather reports some areas of the country experienced flooding this past weekend. An advantage of a solid copper shield versus a braid is much better resistance to water immersion should the coax spend some time under water.

    Just to be specific, LMR-400 (types) have LESS loss than RG-213/U. For a really long run, that may make a difference; the price is usually not that different. The main difference is the RG213/U is (supposedly) mil spec; LMR-400 is not. True LMR-400 is produced by a reputable company; "LMR-400 type" clones may not be of the same quality.
