I can change channels using the up and down arrows...
BUT punching in a channel number doesn't change channels...
Is there a way to go from channel X to channel Y ?
    Examples:
    Go to channel 35
    Go to channel 127
    etc.
    Thanks for any help.

In memory mode enter the memory channel that you want on the keypad. Must be 3 digits. Memory channel 1 would be 001. Channel 35 would be 035. channel 127 would be, well just 127.

    Press the orange button VFO/MR

    The lady will say either
    "Frequency mode"
    Or
    "Channel mode"

When she says "channel mode" enter your 3 digit channel number.

The keypad must be "unlocked" to use the keypad. Look for a small "skeleton key" icon in the upper right corner of the display, just to the left of the battery icon.

If you see the key icon, press and hold the # key untill the lady says "unlock" and the key icon turns off.

    Rege

P.S. if you think the UV5R is delicate, watch this:

That did it. I was only entering 2 digits and then looking for an "Enter" key... but entering 036 as opposed to 36 worked and switched the radio to channel 36. Ditto for other channels.
    Thanks for the tip.
And, that is a crazy video :)

    That's all BS.
All he did was cosmetic damage to the case. It's like taking a car, breaking out the windows, beating up the body with a hammer, spraying water on it, and then being surprised that the engine still works and the car is driveable. Then to top it off he can't even pronounce Baofeng.
