The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) will be on hand at Hamvention® 2020 to conduct its nationally recognized NIMS/ICS compliant AuxComm course. Over 3,000 amateur radio operators from around the country have taken this course. The purpose of this course is to train qualified amateur radio operators, so they may assist their local, county and state governments with emergency backup communications if requested to do so.

This course introduces the auxiliary communicator to the other positions within the Communications Unit (COMU) and how to provision emergency communications in a public safety context. The course also goes deeper into the National Qualifications System (NQS) /National Incident Management System (NIMS) framework. The location of the course will be at the Beavercreek Fire Department Community Room in Beavercreek, Ohio from 12-14 May 2020. There are only 30 slots available for this class, and the cutoff for registrations is 15 April 2020.
