I just ordered the RS-20 with back up battery. Has anyone had experience with the backup battery functionality?

I bought my first Astron supply when most hams were still buying VISTA supplies and telling me they would never last.
Now Vista is out of bussiness and at least two of the hams that said Astron would never last are silent keys.
But the Astron is still working!
Very simple design built to last.

Flip the switch and Forget about it.

I turned my Astron 35M on right out of the box and have left it on pretty much constantly for the last 15 years. No worries.the only thing I have noticed is the voltage meter has slowly moved up from 13.8 to 14 volts but it still measures 13.8 on the output and I haven't bothered to turn the meter adjust screw. The amp meter is nice as a backup method see how much what the ALC and protection circuits are really doing.

In my opinion a great supply... Turn it on and forget it.
